"You never seen a unicorn with a writing deadline before?!? The Doctor can't play with you right now!! Go read a book or something constructive!!"

"Actually we're not playing... we're leaving now.'

SFX - Door closes, TARDIS dematerializes. Few second silence.

Summer 2013 Day 18 : Darn writer's block...

Lately when I try to write new scripts I keep hitting mental blocks mid writing. What a pain. But then again I am just plying my time waiting for another chance to try and submit another mini to ponyinabox... I kinda need to keep an eye on the tumblr just in case such an opportunity ever rises again... maybe I need that as motivation to spark a fresh script in my mind that will actually stick and I can finish. Sigh. Wish ponyinabox had some guidelines for mini submissions, even if the odds are extremely low at least it will spark dome fresh motivation in me even if my odds are weak.

So back to the drawing board and try again.

Summer 2013 Day 9 : Post at the Edge of Change

And for once the change in question has nothing to do with Equestria Girls. Instead the change is in regard to the June 1st announcement that Matt Smith is leaving Doctor Who with his last episode being the 2013 Christmas Special at the end of the year. For context? It's June and last word spoke of the 50th Anniversary episode being in production. So they have yet to sit down and begin production of the Christmas Special... yet.

So as the year ends we will experience a major change in the Doctor Who fandom, entering 2014 with a new 12th Doctor... So yes, I know I keep saying it but... your still wrong, Jamjar, you are not voicing the 12th Doctor... get ready to do the RetCon dance.

Change can also be a good thing. Adding that laptop this coming week I hope to have everything going in terms of podcasting by the end of the Week. That would be nice since I have a lot of podcasts to get rolling. As for fiction writing I have to sit down and start writing, which would probably go better if the darn internet connection would just stay stable long enough for me to start writing... stay tuned.

Summer 2013 Day 6 : Pesky Little Things

Oh what a bunch of nonsense, these pesky little things that have plagued me in the last few days.

- My internet has been finicky for the last few days. What a bother. Is it the weather? Another impatient fool causing a vehicular sadness by getting into a collision with others... darn fool, crash into an inanimate slab of lava rock if you insist on driving poorly!

- For some reason the guy I am trading with needs my address... despite the fact it is clearly on the trade and all he has to do is look.

- Naughty writing block messing me up.

At least there is a new Daring Do Adventures coming out shortly, even if it is a... argh... prequel mini. Come on already, do Episode 2! Otherwise the only other thing I can verify is a new Doctor Whooves and Assistant coming soon... what rubbish.

Hopefully next post is with a new bit of fic from me, or maybe the first in a series of audio drama reviews... and yes, I do have words about November`s Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special... stay tuned.

Summer 2013 Day 1 : This Is Progress?

Maybe it is way too soon for me to be complaining about a lack of progress, but as the summer kicks off I am pondering exactly that. Don't judge me.

I wrapped up my sends for the big trade, that is all done, so now I am just waiting on the clicking of received and the next step... which seems to be taking its time. I don't mind, it took time for me to get all my tasks done and all but still... the waiting.

So I am sitting on my hands for the most part, waiting, and while I am working on a new idea right now it probably does not help none that there is just nobody looking for audio drama scripts. Not ponyinabox, not jrystudios, nobody. I don't mind terribly waiting for a new cattle call for content and all, but we are once again back to the whole waiting thing. Waiting on this laptop trade to be completed, waiting for a cattle call for writers, waiting waiting hurry up and don't mind waiting.

Ponyinabox are grinding out both long announced (Good Show Goodnight, Doctor Whooves Traveller) and New content (Mysterious Mare Do Well) so no opportunities at present for new writers. I take it my first submission ultimately failed. All in all... not the most encouraging, yes, but I will get over it and get back to writing. Stay tuned.

Audio Drama in Progress

Presently working on a first draft of a new 1k word mini audio drama. Entitled "A Good Doctor Goes Crusadin`", the Doctor is left watching the Cutie Mark Crusaders... nothing good can come from that. Will start posting once the first 100 words is scripted. Stay tuned.

Writer`s Block 5/16

I honestly don't know if I should gloat over this or not. Honestly.
Ever since ponyinabox has been pushing the notion that the Jamjar`s version of the pony Doctor was the 12th Doctor I always said that was stupid, seeing how they would end up redacting that the instance the BBC cast the 12th Doctor...apparently we don't need to wait that long from the redacting to begin.

As you know this is the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who, and if bronies thought they were disappointed with Hasbro`s offering for the 30th Anniversary of pony (Friendship is Magic first movie, Equestria Girls) you haven't seen what is up for the 50th Anniversary Doctor Who Special.

No classic Doctors predating Christopher E.
No 9th Doctor Christopher E.
Just Tennant and Smith. Basically Wrong Way Backwards without the Derpy.
But leave it to the BBC to possibly do something nobody asked for, just like Hasbro and their Equestria Girls that only toy marketing execs asked for.
In this case it's the casting of John Hurt, who may be the Doctor... the 9th Doctor mach zero... say what?

Apparently taking advantage of the series not passing the torch from the 8th to 9th Doctor, John Hurt is allegedly to be the true 9th Doctor, fully replacing the in denial C.E. (until he does a Leonard Nimoy and goes full circle on his part in the lore of Doctor Who). Oh... by the way that would bump up every other Doctor one regeneration.

C.E. would become the 10th Doctor.
David Tennant would become the 11th Doctor.
Matt Smith would become the 12th Doctor.
And... yes... the Jamjar, Keiko&Gilly and the brony with the bow tie would, retroactively, become the 13th Doctor.
Still think they should just bite the pony, and become the 1st pony regeneration but whatever. At least it won't happen again... until Matt Smith leaves or a movie trilogy is greenlit and the 13th Doctor is cast... the he would be the 14th Doctor.

Oh bother.

Getting back on track

Well since I am getting back on track with quite a few blogs I might as well get back to audio drama script writing as well... on the off chance somebody picks up something I write or something. First off... maybe write a script in 100 word bites as I work about on updates. That way I don't get stuck with writers block while working.

I'll be back to get started on an idea shortly... but first... a commentary on the latest happenings with ponyinabox and so on... coming up.

Luna Before You Celestia First Draft now up

Took me quite abit of time to write this one up. Wow. Hopefully next audio mini drama I write goes shorter.

Next up I hope to spend some time writing up some Twilight Sparkle/Spike stories, presently tinkering on the first one right now. Probably won't be out until January 2013 but we'll see.

Anyway over 100 days has passed since my first writing submission and... well still don't know how my first submission fared to be honest, but I am thinking it didn't succeed... oh well. Still looking forward to seeing what three submissions did succeed when they come out though.

Here's to the coming of 2013, and hopefully not falling off the fiscal cliff. Darn Republiwhores. Evil... oh well, back to writing!

Almost done with Luna Before You Celestia... should be done by this weekend.

Next inspiration is to craft out a couple of Twilight/Spike minis (best team ever!) but working on the ideas for stories right now... hope to start writing something after I finish what I am presently working on.

Well ponyinabox picked three stories from all the entries from a few months back... still think I didn't make it but here's to hoping... hmm... oh, right. I'll be putting out "Sidelined" here for people to take a look at it... then maybe I'll expand it to a 1000 to 1200 words just to add some content I didn't put in the first time while trying to keep to an 800 word minimum. Stay tuned for that.

Fiction Update November 25th 2012

Well... finally ponyinabox put out word in their second News From The Box that three stories were picked for production... I think I lost but still waiting for that finality... oh well. Better luck next time.

Presently getting ready to post up a few Celestia/Luna minis (Day In Day Out and Luna Before You Celestia)... should be out soon  (first draft). In the meantime I am thinking of submitting again to ponyinabox... soon... well maybe the start of 2013... did I mention that yet? Probably.

Well I got the second part of The Next Do up here, all archived and everything. Next up I'll work on a few more one shots before I go back to do part 3... so that is coming soon.

In the meantime? Well... just passed the 30 day milestone. That means over 30 days passed since my first submission to ponyinabox... and 30 days passed since I heard from them so... well, all I can really be is optimistic so... at least I haven't got a rejection notice... yet... but I am sure that might be coming somewhere down the line. Oh well. At least I can prepare for the next possible opportunity. At least there's that.

"The Sapphire Stone? Isnt that one of Daring's accomplishments?"

"Her seventh. Dont tell that to her ravenous pony fans though. Life, after all, began with the Sapphire Stone."

Donut Joe
"Why is that?"

Dashing
"Because her previous finds pre Sapphire Stone were all warm ups... and mind you if she could ever write about every adventure you'd need a library just for that."

Donut Joe
"Ha! Saving something for a rainy day?"

Dashing
"Not entirely by choice. Quite a few are sealed. Apparently it would be highly embarrasing to some government, organization or individual if some of her antics came to light... and mind you she watches over all these agreements like a griffon, fully intending to publish the second even one lapses."

Donut Joe
"That sounds... a bit morbid."

Dashing
"You dont know the half of it..." (sip) '...I heard she was responsible for the nutrient rich volcanic soil used in the south lawn of the university... by kinda making a volcano erupt on the south lawn, Something about a Diamond Dog relic and a curse and something like that... but thats mom. Making it up as she goes along."

Fixed!

OK, finally figured out how to fix the audio drama scripts. So far fixed The Book Fort of Time and Space, and will slowly work on the others over the weekend. Meanwhile writing a new one now but won't post until all the rest are fixed so stay tuned, I'll update as scripts are fixed.

The Next Do Part 1 and Filly Quest is now fixed. Added Wub It In (and as you can see it went up correctly first time out, yay!)

What a bother (how the dramas post as opposed to how they look for editing)

For some reason when I go to edit the drama scripts they're laid out correctly, but when I look at them on the blog they're all meshed together horribly... I have no idea what it is I am doing wrong but I'm working on it right now... stay tuned for updates.

New Audio Drama Up (October 10th 2012)

By the way Happy 2nd Anniversary Friendship is Magic (first episode originally aired today two years ago). Still plowing ever forward. New drama script posted today, Filly Quest (a Cutie Mark Crusader mini)... and yes, still no response from ponyinabox. But it has been only 2 weeks going on 3 so... I hope to hear something eventually. In the meantime going to script one more random mini then go back to writing The Next Do... so stay tuned for updates.
